Tabitha and Raul are denizens of Black mountain in the Mojave wasteland. Under Tabitha’s guidance a group of Super Mutant Nightkin have set up shop, ready to create her state of ‘Utobitha’. Her radio broadcasts and night time raids have become the scourge of the area surrounding the encampment. One victim of the raids is Raul, a ghoul mechanic always kept one day away from execution by the Nightkin. His services are his salvation however, and as long as he keeps fixing things, the Super Mutants will continue to have a use for him.

Creations of the Master, Nightkin are elite Super Mutants. Their purple hue is due to increase experimentation on them, though their name stems from near-constant use and almost addiction to Stealth Boys. This makes them some of the most dangerous variants of Super Mutants, as while they are not quite as strong as standard Super Mutants they are stealthier and have more reasoned approaches to combat – almost verging on tactics.

Marcus has been many things: A member of the Master’s army, a sheriff in Broken Hills, and now the leader of Jacobstown, a place for Super Mutants and Nightkin to live, albeit somewhat dysfunctionally. He is a veteran of several conflicts and incidents, and while he tries to keep the peace he can hold his own if called to fight. One of this number includes Lily, a Nightkin with multiple personality disorder. She is one-part caring grandmother, one-part a ravening combat monster named ‘Leo’; only time will tell which personality will win out.

The NCR has created strong military procedure and structure to aid its efforts on the front line. While the commanders themselves come with different attitudes and levels of experience, they all fight for the good of the NCR. Chief Hanlon is the leader of the Rangers, his explosive tactics being instrumental in the events of the first battle for hoover dam. General Oliver is in charge of the NCR’s Mojave forces. While no lover of Chrief Hanlon or the rangers, he is a staunch support of the NCR’s president and a believer in military might, even if his application of such is not as expert as he believes. Lt. Gorobets is the leader of the 1st Recon Alpha team. A tough and expert leader, he cares greatly for the troopers under his command and is not above looking for help from outside sources if it can help them.

Battle breeds success, honor, and victory – at least for those with skill enough to grasp it. The Legion’s Military command is made up of those whom Caesar himself deems worthy. Vulpes Inculta rose through the ranks with unorthodox tactics and a flare for covert and espionage work. He was instrumental in the victory and terror attacks in Nipton. In stark contrast, Lucius is as upright and staunch as a Legion member can be. He is the leader of the praetorian guard, charged with the defence of Caesar and command of his personal bodyguard. Legate Lanius combines the best of all as the Legion’s military commander. His moniker of ‘The Terror of the East’ is well earned, and as competent a commander as he is a fearsome fighter up close. With him in the fray, Legion victories are never far behind.

Super Mutants love to hunt and eat. If that means shooting down (mostly) defenseless ‘meat bags’ from afar or blowing their next meal into chunks will explosives, they are happy to do so. Their favourite method of ‘food preparation’ however is to get up close and personal and batter their next meal into submission with whatever comes to hand.

Life in the Vaults has continued (in most cases) unabated for years since the start of the great war, but now the Vaults are opening. Be it mechanical fault, pre-programmed emergence or outside influence, Vault Dwellers are more and more common in the wasteland. Sometimes such denizens strike out on their own. Other times they join up with fellow survivors or stay in the relative safety of their homes. Either way they have been preparing for emergence for years, and come out swinging.
