Fantasy Games is always looking for enthusiastic people to join our staff. We currently have 1 or 2 positions available.

All general staff positions include working the counter, ringing up customers, checking in orders, restocking shelves, sorting cards, restocking card singles binders, Light cleaning and maintenance. General staff will also participate in our social media efforts by promoting events on the various media channels.

 

Position: Counter/Sales/General Staff.

Position: Manager Trainee.

 

Duties:

Assisting customers, ringing up sales.

Restocking Shelves and Inventory tasks

Picking and packing online orders.

Cleaning and light maintenance tasks.

Planning, organizing and executing Organized Play events.

 

Useful Knowledge:

Game Knowledge of Magic: The Gathering.

Game knowledge of at least 2 of the following games: Warmachine, Warhammer 40k, Pokemon TCG, Yu-Gi-Oh! CCG, or Dicemasters.

Office Apps: Word, Excel

Adobe Apps: Photoshop, InDesign, Premier Pro

 

Requirements:

Availabilty on weekdays and weekends. We close at midnight and with closing duties, could be as late as 1:00 am.

Availabilty on holidays. We only close on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Reliable transportation to work.

Ability to stay focused and complete tasks even with constant interuptions.

Ability to work unsupervised and stay on task.

 

Manager Trainee Duties:

In addition to the above; Manager Trainees will be expected to:

Schedule labor resources.

Make stock-ordering decisions and place orders.

Manage events from planning to execution.

Learn new games.

Manage long-term projects as needed.

Game Alphas: We are seeking folks with a specialty in certain games. In addition to the above general duties a Game Alpha has detailed knowledge of the particular game and would be able to judge/answer questions while running an organized play event for that game.

Alpha Trainee: Interested in getting to the Alpha level for a game? We offer training to get there.

Game Alphas would be expected to pursue judge certification if it is available, and they were not already certified.

Game Alpha positions available:

Yu-gi-oh! : in addition to the running events, deep knowledge of the secondary market card prices is required. This Position would be involved in all aspects of setting up a Singles system at Fantasy Games. Game knowledge to the level of being able to able to answer most rules questions during tournaments, without looking it up. Willing to pursue judge certification with Konami

Magic The Gathering:  in addition to the running events, deep knowledge of the secondary market card prices is required. This position would also be responsible for managing our singles inventory and keeping prices as up to date as possible. The ideal candidate would be able to flip through a binder and make buy list offers on cards of value. You must be willing to pursue Judge certification, which requires some travel to nearby cities, like Chicago or Indianapolis.  Must also be willing to travel to events for buying / Selling opportunities as needed.

Pokemon:TCG in addition to the running events, knowledge of the secondary market card prices is required. This position would also be responsible for managing our singles inventory and keeping prices as up to date as possible. The ideal candidate would be able to flip through a binder and make buy list offers on cards of value. You must be willing to pursue Judge certification.

Warhammer 40k/Age of Sigmar/Games Workshop: This specialty requires knowledge of the game and multiple armies. To run organized play, you must create campaign style story-line events to keep players interested in coming back.

Warmachine/Hordes. This specialty requires knowledge of the game and multiple armies. We run weekly leagues and occasional tournaments.

Board Games: Working knowledge of upcoming releases with your finger on the pulse of the board game market. This postion would work to cultivate our board game inventory and keep it fresh and relevant.
